Today, we’re talking about housekeeping and home maintenance expenses.
What are Housekeeping & Home Maintenance Expenses?
This benefit helps to cover costs of hiring someone to perform household tasks or chores that you normally used to do, but can’t do now as a result of your accident. Some examples are expenses related to:
- Doing yard work such as mowing the lawn
- Shoveling snow
- Shopping for or preparing food
- Doing laundry
- Cleaning your home
Who Can Receive Housekeeping & Home Maintenance Expenses?
You can apply to be reimbursed for housekeeping and home maintenance expenses if:
- Your injuries are deemed to be catastrophic
- You purchased the optional coverage that extends housekeeping and home maintenance expenses to all injuries
How Much Can I Receive in Housekeeping & Home Maintenance Expenses?
This benefit will pay up to $100 per week for reasonable and necessary additional expenses.
How Long Can I Receive Housekeeping & Home Maintenance Expenses?
If you suffer a catastrophic injury, there is no limit to how long you can receive the benefit.
If you have a minor or non-catastrophic injury and are entitled to this benefit through optional coverage, you can receive benefits for up to 2 years following the accident.
